Biography
12th Canvas was born and raised in Portland, Oregon.
Life was rough as a youngster, and by the age of 10 he had picked up an addiction. No one knew at first, he kept it to himself, but later in life, the secret came out. His addiction to music lead him to peruse many hobbies, all of them in some way inspired by music.
At the age of 16 he purchased E-jay, and this only helped to further his addiction. He would spend hours throwing together simple tracks made from loops and rapping over them with a cheap mic. Instead of homework he would indulge himself with the pleasures of writing a beat.
For the next 11 years his addiction would subside, then grow again, but would never fully leave him. Sometimes, it was because he didn’t have a computer or the means to carry out his vice, but the hunger and fire for production was always there. Until one day, he had the permanent means to peruse his addiction with unrelenting passion. With nothing more than a laptop loaded with Ableton and a few plug-ins, he started writing music anytime he had a spare moment.
His addiction had taken over. It was already too late.
