Biography
Siddharth A.K.A. “Dub Sharma” is from Chandigarh in India. It all commenced as he started playing Harmonium (the Indian Classical way) at the age of 10, without any formal training. Parents helped him grow with his talent as the family paid regular visits to classical and folk music events in the city. He was an 8th grader when he started making hiphop and Bhangra Beats.
He started editing sound effects and background music for various local theatre groups, which helped him understand the recording technology. He also remixed jingles and composed signature tunes for local and national Radio and TV channels in India and finally decided to learn music production.
He got in touch with Mr. Hari Singh (alumni Manchester MIDI School, UK) to learn the basics of Digital Audio Workstation and Electronic Music. And then, to go deeper into Recording Technology he joined SAE, Mumbai, which he considers a really good experience, as he got to learn from the masters and while living in Mumbai, he got a chance to meet a lot of talented people in the heart of Bollywood.
He started developing a keen interest in dubstep when he heard Mayur Narvekar (Bandish Projekt) and Piyush Bhatnagar play live in Mumbai. He also appreciates the contribution made by Nasha Records (UK) and Nucleya(Udyan Sagar) in the field of Asian Dubstep. He fused both of his fascinations Indian classical sounds and dubstep to produced his first track, Raaz (feat. Jeetu Ramachandran) that was aired on Friction Show, BBC Asian Network on August 17 2010, and gained a really nice response from people all around the world.
He aspires to further explore asian dubstep and experiment more with Desi sounds to design beautiful musical rides for the listeners as he believes that Indian Classical melodies and folk music have lot of treasures that are still undiscovered and dubstep is the best way to unveil them.
