Biography

Maksim is an MC/producer, originally from north London, currently residing in Leeds. He was classically trained at a young age and played cello for 10 years before turning his attentions to electronic music, writing and producing Dubstep, Drum & Bass and Hip Hop.

Within Leeds, Maksim is resident host at Collision, and has previously hosted DJ sets by MRK1, Cookie Monsta, Chasing Shadows and Skism. In the summer of 2010, Maksim was introduced to the dubstep/dnb scene in Oxford, and regularly hosted Bassface alongside MC Linguistics. This meant hosting sets for several DJs, including DJ-ME, Document One & DGM, as well as DJ Fresh’s Album Launch tour date in Oxford.

Work within the studio as an MC and a producer has paved the way for several collaborations with artists from around the world. Writing vocals for tracks produced by Australian based artists Filth Collins and Eggchan, helped to land Maksim his first releases under Monkey Dub Recording. Previous to this, his first official release was with Code of Arms records, after working with Belgian Dubstep duo Glÿph – Subcubensis EP, being released in November 2010.

Maksim is a founding member of Borderline Disorderly, a group of artists hoping to eventually release as a label on a global scale. Other groups to look out for include Collision, Dub Politics, Liquid Steel Sessions, Sly Fly and Dub Thugs, all associated groups who are taking music to the next level !
